Friday: Let the unwinding begin! Guests check in to their accommodations and settle into our Seven Islands Camp. As the light begins to fade, a freshly prepared meal is served at a candle-lit table overlooking the river as the campfire burns. 

Saturday: After breakfast, guests are shuttled to the historic river town of Scottsville. Spend the day navigating through the picturesque rapids and channels of Seven Islands. Late afternoon, we return to camp for another candle-lit dinner and an evening with friends and family.

Sunday: As the sun rises above another beautiful day on the river, breakfast will be served aboard the batteau. We then navigate across the river and into a historic 1830's aqueduct from the bygone canal era.

Welcome to our rustic accommodations that do not force you to rough it! We have endeavored to create an experience that provides the right amount of comfort with the right amount of camping, regardless of whether this is your first night in a tent or you are a seasoned camper.

Our tents are premium canvas, harkening back to the 18th century when similar tents were used on expeditions across Virginia and into the territories beyond. Each tent includes a comfortable queen-sized bed with premium cotton sheets, tasteful furnishings, and the ability to charge your devices and cameras. 

Hot showers and toilets are available at camp.

Expect to be well fed! There is nothing like a locally inspired meal in a one-of-a-kind setting. Guests will enjoy delicious dinners on Friday and Saturday nights, breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday, and a lunch spread served aboard the batteau on Saturday.

We understand each group has its own tastes, and we do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies. Each group can customize the menu and dining experience to their preferences.

Stillwater and soft drinks will be provided for the weekend; any alcoholic beverages must be brought by the guests. We will provide glasses, cooler space and ice.

When putting this offer together, we have looked over and over for a similar experience. To our knowledge, none exists. The closest comparison is multi-day luxury rafting trips along western rivers such as the Salmon, Green, and Colorado Rivers.

The rivers of the eastern United States were the pathways that helped build the American nation, yet they are often forgotten as venues for tourism. Ironically, their wild nature is what helps preserve them.

We are proud to be part of a resurgence of East Coast heritage tourism, pairing layers of forgotten American history with classic scenes of wild Virginia.
